Great news and an interesting experiment for sure, I'm just curious as to the big question: "Why?"

The steam page and blog mention it's been a lot of work to get underway, so I'm eager to get a better idea of what you feel the benefits are given the huge undertaking. Keen to hear more as we get closer to release!

On of the reasons why is because it makes certain Steam Deck features easier to use.

Here's hoping it will take advantage of all of Steam's features! Curious if SIAPI can be used...

The Steam Input API can't be used directly because it's not compatible with the GPL. If the Dolphin team manage to track down a GPL-compatible proxy library that makes the problem go away, then it'd save us some legwork for OpenMW, which has the exact same problem as SDL doesn't seem to want to solve it for us.
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900X

GPU: Radeon Vega 56

I believe this is planned for SDL 3: see https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL/pull/7558.

Why was it delisted on Steam? Did those litigious Nintendo bastards make you take it down? Why is there no news about this?

So can't the developers remove that Wii common key in the source code, thus not give Nintendo ammo to use? Surely, they would want to go after Dolphin, no? How do we know it will be safe?
