I'm not sure about the mapping question, but wouldn't this mean that you won't be able to switch beam weapons, and likewise only be able to complete a fraction of the game? (I'm assuming that you're referring to the C-Stick as "right joystick")
Computer: Acer VN7-591G (It's a laptop)... i7-4710HQ, NVIDIA 860M (Maxwell), 16GB 1600MHz RAM, 256GB SSD / 1TB HDD, 15.6" 1080p display, Windows 10 Home, always using a <1month old build of Dolphin.

No prob man. Lemme just say, you're in for a good time, Prime is an amazing game. Smile

I mentioned the L/R buttons in a comment on the above page. The controls take a little while to get used to, but I absolutely love them now.

Besides the beam switching problem, note that you won't be able to move and aim at once, no matter how you map the controls. That really limits the usefulness of trying to map aiming to the right stick.

"4) If you play it on GameCube or Dolphin: experiment with lightly vs. fully pressing the shoulder buttons. Lightly pressing L allows you to move left and right, fully pressing it lets you lock on (duh), lightly pressing R lets you aim freely while standing still, and fully pressing it is the same but with crosshairs."

how do i do that? thats not stock control, i just tried

Did you map both the digital and analog variants of the buttons? (e.g. both L and L-Analog)

To elaborate:

DopeAssPrince9000, you'll notice that the shoulder buttons slide, and also make a click at the end. The sliding part is the analogue input; the click at the end is the digital input. Make sure to map these properly in the controller configuration interface.

Within that interface, after you've mapped the digital/analogue inputs properly, you'll notice the two red bars which represent your input. There should always be a little bit of red (unless you're using a non-authentic controller). When you push the shoulder buttons in (but NOT click), the red bars should stretch to the grey line (the threshold adjustment controls where the grey line is). If they don't, adjust the threshold until they just touch they grey line (your value will likely be between 50 and 90). Lastly, make sure that when you press the buttons all the way down and hear a click, that the red bars fully occupy all the empty space.

Then the "4)" should work. Hopefully that explanation wasn't too long.
