Cheats no longer supported?

Ever since moving from version 3 to 4 I originally noticed some games had AR codes already built in and gecko codes could no longer be downloaded from database. Just got the most recent 4.0.2 stable release and it's the same thing, gecko codes can no longer be downloaded. If there was some dispute between the gecko code site and dolphin pulling directly from there that's fine but is there a way to download the database and enable it inside of dolphin? (Skimmed first few pages on forum but didn't notice anybody mentioning this)
