Changing revisions

Hi i just wanted to ask, when chaining from one revision to another one, what could and or should you copy from the older one?
I know you can copy memory card files in user/gc. Are you able to keep the .ini files in the config folder? or the controller profiles?

And on just another random question, what are the game config ini's? Do they perm/temp set settings for the emulator to make them more compatible is what im guessing?

As for the ini files in config I don't recommend keeping those as things can and will change GUI wise and could screw things up.
The Game config inis get's changed when you right click a game and change options, status, cheats etc for it.
