Changing controller type in Wii games

Hi there

I wonder if anyone can help.

I'd like to change controller type in a Wii game for BOTH controllers, so for example Mario kart the game detects a game cube controller rather than Wiimote.

I can get it for one controller using the GUI change controller option, but I can't find any way to do it for both controllers or a setting file either.

Any help appreciated!
