Hello,

When playing Mario Party 8 with 4 real wiimotes one of them got out of power and i had to change batteries. I saved the game state, swapped the batteries and had to use the "Pair Up" option to get the 4 wiimotes synced again but after loading the state the game didnt recognize the wiimote anymore (it said it was connected but the buttons had no effect).

Anyone know a safe way to change real wiimote batteries while in game?

Thanks!

Id Imagine the best remedy would be to get a usb charger for them to be honest, because if the batteries go in the Wiimote whilst they're in use, then its power is off and its disconnected, and its going to have ot be re-sync'd when you replace them and switch it back on.

Actually i (might) have a solution for this. I bellieve i've changed the batteries in the Wiimote 2 times while a game was running. I was playing Worms Battle Islands and using rev 7271. I can't guarentee that it will work with any revision, but it is possible.

Basically:

1. Pause the emulation using the f10 shortcut
2. Hold the power button to switch off the Wiimote, then change the batteries (obviously lol)
3. Go to Wiimote settings, change Input Source from Real Wiimote to None and then click refresh so that Dolphin will know that the Wiimote is no longer connected.
4. Pair up the Wiimote again and unpause the game.

This worked for me atleast, but i don't recommend disconnecting and pairing up multiple times in 1 session, though that shouldn't be neccesary anyway.

Thanks for the tip, gonna try! Also found out that Mario Party saves at the end of each round so no big problem there.
