I know this isn't an option in the GUI, but is there anyone with a fork made with expanded ram, or who could walk someone with literally no coding experience whatsoever (myself) through how to do it? Hell, I'd pay someone at this point, I just want a dedicated spot to play the Colossal Caverns hack and I have no PC.

You don't need a fork for this if you edit Dolphin's configuration files manually. In the [Core] section of Dolphin.ini (or perhaps preferably, of the game-specific INI file), insert this:

RAMOverrideEnable = True
MEM1Size = 0x01800000
MEM2Size = 0x04000000

Then change the values of MEM1Size and MEM2Size to what you need.

um, i have a question with this, the defalut mem size fore sLot A and B are:

Slot A: 8
Slot B: 255

one of my GC games 'Shadow the hegiehog" has this save issue, were the game
can't find any game data in slot A even after you delete the .gci file for the game and save a new one

could the slot A: 8 be the issue for this game?
or that it needs a "memory card A.raw" file instead of a .gci file?

Those aren't sizes, they're enum entries. 1 means memory card file, 8 means GCI folder, and 255 means no device.

ah, okay i see, so
8 is GCI folder which is enabled by defalut,
is there a game where gci folder does not work?

is there any reason to use 1 = memeory card instead of gci folder?

I suppose the main reason is if you frequently want to use your saves in some other program that doesn't support GCI folders, like Nintendont? At least that's the only concrete reason I can come up with now.

yeah, datel's action replay series disks and SD Media launcher don't work, lol
if they could that would be impressive to see. haha if ever
tho i highy doubt it to happen.

from my testing the gci format for saves works in nintendodont or when you backup saves from a memory card to sd card, but also when you restore a gci save to memory card,

the memory card.raw is all the gci files together in one convenient place, it's the same thing as gci files,
but one file instead of many single ones.
