Hi,
So I'm trying to play super mario bros wii and super mario galaxy but they run at low 20s to 10s when i can run brawl and legacy xp (brawl mod) at solid 60 and i can run pubg at a playable frame rate. I have 0 mods on any of the games. and playing with the same settings.
Anyone know why?

Specs:
Cpu: AMD A10 Extreme edition R8 4c+8g quad core
Graphics: AMD radeon r8 mx365dx, AMD radeon ™ R7
Ram: 12 gb

Comparing emulation to PC games doesn't work. They're entirely different things.

Anyways, your CPU is too crap to run anything more intensive than say, melee or brawl. Super Mario Galaxy is not an easy game to emulate. Sorry.

You're far below our recommended spec

Your computer is too slow, not all games run the same.

Edit: See above

This looks like an AMD cpu from before Ryzen with just 2Ghz. Sorry, you are not getting far with this on emulating anything above playstation 1 or n64. A current intel or amd desktop cpu is like 3-4 times faster and those are sometimes still not enough to emulate all games at full speed.

Hmm, new super mario bros should run faster than 20 fps with this cpu. If you post screenshots of your settings and your graphics settings, maybe somebody can point out what you can change to get more performance.

First of all: That CPU isn't very good for emulation, these AMD's are very underperforming.
Second: The GPU is magnitudes slower than the nVidia GTX750 which we advise for 1080p or 3x IR, and it is just a little bit faster than the Intel HD Graphics 4600 which should suffice for 1x IR or 480p
Third: As pointed out, you cannot compare an emulated game with a game created for the PC (which is what you did when you said you could run PUBG) those are two different ballgames.

In conclusion:
Your computer might be too slow.

How to figure out if this is the case:
0. Close all application that run in the background e.g. Antivirus/Spyware/Malware scanners; Close all Internet Browsers; Close as many systemtray items as possible; Any music player; CLOSE EVERYTHING Smile
1. Download and extract the latest development version in a NEW and EMPTY folder; You can find this version at the top of the download page.
2. Download and install the latest drivers for your GPU found here: https://www2.ati.com/drivers/win10-64bit-radeon-software-adrenalin-edition-18.2.1-feb7.exe
3. Create an empty portable.txt in the same folder as Dolphin.exe
4. Change your Windows power options to High performance, also make sure your laptop is plugged in to a power outlet.
5. Start Dolphin
6. In Graphics change the Shader Compilation to Synchronous and tick Compile Shaders before starting (this will introduce some stutters while the shaders compile, so you have to play a bit before they go away)
7. In Graphics change the Back-end to Vulkan (if supported) otherwise change it to Direct3D
8. In Graphics also make sure that the Internal Resolution is set to 1x
9. In Graphics also make sure that the Anti-Aliasing is set to 1x
10. In Graphics also make sure that the Anisotropic Filtering is set to 1x
11. In Configuration make sure that your Audio is set to HLE and the CubeB backend.
12. In Controllers you configure your controller again
13. Do not touch any other settings.
14. Test your game

This should give you the highest speed possible, if it still is too slow then your CPU is too weak to handle this specific game other games still might be possible.

If this is the case there are 2 things you can do to speed up a bit, but it will generate glitches and might even introduce potentially game breaking bugs.

Graphical Glitches: Change Shader Compilation to Asynchronous (Skip Drawing)
Potential game breaking bugs/glitches: In Configuration on the Advanced tab turn on the Emulated CPU overclocking and decrease it by 10%, if still too slow, decrease it by another 10% and so on.

If this doesn't help at all, then your computer is 100% too slow to run this specific game.

p.s. A game that runs in Dolphin on an Emulated Wii or Gamecube is considered too slow if it doesn't consistantly hit its framerate cap which is: NTSC 30 or 60FPS and PAL 25 or 50FPS.

You put a lot of effort into stating what's already been said for whatever reason.

I always think it's most useful for the users to see for themselves if it's their computer or if it's Dolphin; otherwise they will keep coming back on every update asking if their computer is now suddenly able to run at 10k, so I made this nice copy/paste from one of my previous posts, only a few things changed to fit this specific user.

Also... I'm working nightshift... I'm bored and I've got fokall to do...

Keep on doing what you do. It's always nice in the rare occasion that someone listens.

I see both sides, as 99% of the time it ends up pointless. But, if we don't try... then... what's the point.
