cant configure dolphin correctly

ive tried my best to configure dolphin as best i can and been doing so for a few hours. ive been trying to play pokemon xd but every time i start it up it has lag spikes to where i cant play the game without wanting to throw my laptop through a wall......(i think we all understand this) anyway i have used emulators in the past to play my games and i had trouble with them in the beginning but finally got them to work but for some reason i can not get dolphin to work correctly so please can someone help me out with this.

also im using the 5.0 dolphin

im not stupid when it comes to computers but i dont know everything lol saying that i dont how what specs my computer has lol ive never really known how to look or what i was looking at i just knew how to play with settings till i got something to work

Yep. Just as I thought. Both your CPU and GPU are way too weak for that game (And your GPU is too weak for almost anything in Dolphin). Stick to Animal Crossing, Melee, and Brawl at 1x internal resolution. You might get playable performance in those games? But that GPU is *bad*

Honestly the baseline GPU power that you could get away with in Dolphin is some Intel Haswell GPU (so a 3DMark13 score of roughly 569 in 1080p fire strike?) Extremely low, but that's probably baseline of what you could get away with if you had a decent CPU.

Your GPU is on the low end of what was... 2 generations before that. I can't even find 3DMark13 scores for that.


Your CPU is pretty meh too, but not so bad that it couldn't play Melee or something if it wasn't bottlenecked by that GPU.
