The thing is that there's no way to do this cleanly with the forum software, unless we want to fiddle around with yet more custom user groups (which we don't). If you'd like to see the limits dropped down to 100 posts, that sounds reasonable, but it's also not unreasonable to expect people to verify HD Texture threads. Unless they're going to be doing 5 or 6 new projects every week, it's not a big hassle. The most prolific people creating HD textures generally top out at 3, over the course of as many years. Posting something in General Discussion usually sees it moved to the HD Texture Forum in less than 12 hours (conservative estimate as well).
@gondracorn - That asterisk means you're a hidden user, if you're looking at the Users Online part of the Forum Index (at the very bottom). Just means people who aren't Global Mods or Admins can't see that you're online at any given moment.
