alright, i installed the "insanely descriptive" tools from the windows SDK Tongue
and updated to the revision that forces use of windows SDK 7.1, now everything is working great! thanks everyone who helped and thanks for the guide! Big Grin

I didnt edit these files like you told us to, instead I also changed the library and include directories for all projects. But this seems to be quite buggy, I'll probably do it again in the way you say in the guide, I get some compile errors sometimes and (I dunno if this is related) everytime it compiles even with no erros at all my dsound backend doesnt work.
VS2010 seems to be still very buggy, and the express version seems even more unstable, maybe the Service pack will fix some of that.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 960 @ 3.6 GHz
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3 AM3+ Revision
RAM: HyperX 8GB Dual Channel @ 1600Mhz
