No idea what I am doing wrong here.
Coming back to emulator after a couple of years.

My 5 year old wants to play Galaxy and needs a little assistance.
It is one of my favorite games of all time and I want him to experience it.

When I used emulator a couple of years back...the WiiRd automatically populated.
Now I don't know what is going on.
WiiRd is failing to download.

I manually tried to edit the ini file
This is what it looks like

[Gecko_Enabled]
$Infinite(Infinite Starbits)

Every time I put a code in after that....and hit save..
It doesn't save. It's bizarre.

I have tried to copy and paste the codes in dozens of times and hit save with no luck.
Getting really frustrated.

Edit: I have tried both the stable versions and latest builds with same result

I'm having the same issue. I had put codes into a bunch of games manually to make them work in wide screen and now coming back a few years later with a beefier video card I find that all the codes are gone. When I put them in manually by right clicking the game, clicking properties and navigating to the Gecko Codes tab, click the Edit Config button, enter the codes in the proper format and save the file, the codes list remains empty. I click the Edit Config button again, and the file is empty, none of the codes are saved. This is very annoying. I've checked the usual "nothing works the way it's suppose to" culprit of my anti-virus and it's not interfering. I'm at a loss.

Right, I finally figured it out. You have to Run as Administrator! Right click the shortcut, click properties, go to the Compatibility tab, tick Run this program as an administrator.
