My sincerest apologies if a similar thread exists already.. I did a search and didn't find anything as relevant.

I am able to successfully run the Dolphin 2.0 release perfectly. However, any other builds, whether older or newer will not execute. I get the "application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application" error. I have installed all of the required drivers, etc (as version 2.0 runs fine).

I'm wondering if there is something simple that I am overlooking?

My specs: Phenom II 940 @ 3.0, 4 gb ram, 2x GTX 285 in SLI, Win 7 64 bit

I appreciate any input. Thanks!

Quick update- I forgot to mention in my first post that I was running the 64-bit version of 2.0. I decided, for troubleshooting purposes, to download the 32-bit version of r7584 and it works fine! I love all of the new features over 2.0. Very strange that the 64-bit version of 2.0 works but no other 64-bit revisions.. I always get the same error (as posted in my previous post) when trying to start dolphin.exe.

I've scoured the forums all the way back to mid-2010 and found no solutions to this so far.

Thanks again for any input you can give!

Update or DL "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64)" => 10.0.40219

There are 10 threads about this.... search in the forum with "0xc000007b"

Thanks for the reply and sorry about the duplicate thread. I did have a slightly earlier version of the Visual C++ 2010 Redist Package for x64 installed. After updating to 10.0.40219 and rebooting I still get the same issue. Perhaps I need to uninstall any previous x64 versions and reboot again.

arf...
- use CCleaner for cleaning temp and registry => test again
- update DirectX & nvidia/ati drivers => test again
- disable your antivirus => test again
- test your RAM and/or underclock your overclocked memory => test again

after all of that, if it don't work yet, your win7 is broken somewhere... ^^'

Good luck Wink

Yeah, uninstall the x64 version and reinstall it.

Really, that just doesn't help at all anywhere.

What do gfx drivers have to do with starting an application?

Trying to start an app which is prevented from running by AV software would give a more useful error message.

Why would ONLY Dolphin fail to start if the RAM is faulty?

Seriously, you shouldn't be posting random advice or at least think a bit if what you're suggesting actually makes sense.

Thanks for all of the input thus far. I will try uninstalling and reinstalling the x64 versions of VC++ to see if that works. I'm really hoping to get the latest release of 64-bit Dolphin working as I need the extra FPS for TLoZ: TP.. even with my PC specs I get only 15-20 fps in most of the overworld areas even with the speed hack enabled on 32-bit Dolphin latest release.

Also, thanks again for all of the replies to my redundant thread! Smile

No need to read only as long as what you're writing is helpful in any way Wink
