Hi,

Having some problem while trying to play Super Smash Bros Melee online. When I try to connect someone, Dolphin hangs for a few seconds then crashes or showing "Disconnected" message (altrough I know that my partner is hosting right now). How to fix that?

(I'm using Dolphin 4.0-648)

Are you both following the Netplay Guide (https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/netplay-guide/)?
Also, are you both using the same ISO?

I have the same issue as him.

In Dolphin 4.0.2, I set the port, forward it and give my friend the IP address. Works, except that we get constant desyncs in Brawl.

In the DC-Netplay branch 4.0-652 it seems to have a new Netplay menu which gives a random port, ok fine I forwarded every single port for this and gave my friend my details in the style of IPTongueORT.
He gets the "disconnected" message, neither does the ID method work. Though now if I give him my Hamachi IPTongueORT instead he can connect, we played for 4 hours with no desyncs but we have to suffer the added latency of hamachi.

Try running the latest dev build (4.0-561 as of this writing), and make sure that you both have the same ISO and have dual core mode turned off

Can't speak for TC, but I'm using the Dual Core Branch for a reason. (You may understand the issue here better if you were to try it's Netplay function as it's different from the main branch.)

Like I explained above in my case, neither is the ISO the issue.

Actually, I came from Global Melee community. Everybody use the same ISO (Revision 2) and we know how to Netplay Sleepy . I happened to play some Melee online on older Dolphin version. I don't know what could be possibly wrong.

And yes, we're using the SAME DC-Netplay Branch.

I am and like said in my case, it does work if I use hamachi (very undesirable) so I can't think the issue here is Dolphin revisions being different.

Is the host port forwarding and allowing Dolphin through the firewall simply not enough in this branch? Am I missing something?

Some routers work incorrectly with the UDP port breaking scheme. This branch is a branch because it's still being worked on and not 100% reliable.

Alright I see, that's probably it in my case.

Will say though 4.0-430 dc-netplay with the old Netplay GUI works fine for me meanwhile.
