Hi guys, after a lot of testing.

Here are my findings.

Two different systems (amd gpu dx12 backend and Intel gpu dx11 backend) Windows 10 x64 1809 and Windows 10 x64 1607

Clean Dolphin install, latest dev build.

Settings, update console:

-EU Región:

Loaded a EU, US and JAP game (game launch fine from Dolphin UI), hit home on wiimote, going back to wii menú, disc channel, game cannot be read message.

Clean install again.

-US Región:

Loaded a EU, US and JAP game (game launch fine from Dolphin ui), hit home on wiimote, going back to wii menú, disc channel, game cannot be read message.

Not sure what else could I try.

Have you tried re-inserting the disc after returning to the Wii Menu? Sometimes the Wii Menu "misremembers" which disc is inserted for some reason.

Either right-click on the game in the game list and select Change Disc, or use File > Change Disc...

Didnt knew that option. Thanks.

Here are my new findings.

Wii menu will always show cannot read disc UNTIL you use the change disc option for the first time.

Once you use change disc, wii menu will properly show the game. And also will show the game going from game to wii menu.

When you launch dolphin again, and goes directly to wii menu, it will show insert disc. Which is correct.

BUT once you load another game from dolphin ui, wii menu disc channel will show the latest game you used the option change disc. No matter how many games you launch, it will show the one you hit change disc.

I guess this can be solved.

If you need more test, just ask.

Since now we know how to replicate the problem. Should I do something more? Open an issue on bug tracker, or it´s already know?

Thanks.

I think it's covered by this issue report: https://bugs.dolphin-emu.org/issues/8115

Hi. Thanks. I guess the issue of cannot read disc message on disc channel until you use change disc option for the first time, on a clean Dolphin install, also should be solved when a fix arrives.
