Can you program controller shake to a button?

I am going to use a xbox 360 controller on my pc. So yeah I cannot shake(swing it up and down) the controller to double jump in games like New Super Mario since it is not a wii controller. Can I program the shake controller action to a simple button on my xbox 360 controller? If not is there any kind of work around to avoid buying wii controllers?

Yes, just map all three shake directions to one button (I did that for Kirby's Return to Dreamland)
