Can you have more than 4 people in a room in dolphin?

I was curious if it's possible to have 5 people in a room. Would one person have to have their port removed and then the rest get the other ports? The 5th person would just be a spectator. To specify this is for SSBB.

Yes, you can have as many spectators as you want in a room.
