Okay, this is an oddity, but here me out. The situation is, I use DefenderX's ICC builds (which I HIGHLY recommend). After revision 600, there were some core changes where emulation speed slowed down but compatibility picked up. For games like F-Zero GX, I get 100% speed all the time in build 600, but cannot get 100% on every track in build 750 (Defender X's latest build). The solution is simply: use build 600

However, Tales of Symphonia has a strange sound popping issue in build 600. I have tried every possible solution I can think of (drivers, windows sound settings, etc..) but the only solution is to use build 750 (which corrects the sound issue). However, once again, build 750 takes a fairly respectable performance hit; something like 5-10 FPS by my testing in F-Zero GX.

So, is possible to combine the graphics and speed of build 600, and use the audio of build 750?

If you're not using LLE audio for Tales of Symphonia, you're begging for problems. HLE audio is very buggy in that game.

About the builds, if you had adequate programming skills, you probably could hack together something of the sort, but then again you probably wouldn't be posting about it here.

The most common solution is to use multiple revisions of Dolphin. For Windows, all you have to do is keep one Dolphin folder with all of your data, but keep multiple Dolphin.exe files (renamed ones of course, they can't all have the same name). There was a thread about using multiple Dolphin revisions here.

@ Extreme2Dude: well that was simple. Thanks!

LLE is absolutely required, which was the reason for my inquiry. It's simple enough to use different revisions, I was just wondering if one could take the programming and make an all-in-one solution. I do not have nearly enough knowledge to building/coding Dolphin to know where to even begin on something like this. It wouldn't be worth it the effort just for one game (F-Zero GX is one of the most difficult games to run, period). I will just wait until the devs prioritize optimization and speed. Thanks everyone!

Have fun waiting :p In all seriousness, you'd probably be due for a hardware upgrade before any of the demanding or slightly-demanding games become perfectly playable on lower or mid-range systems.

True true. Although I hardly consider my system mid-range. Wink
