It's possible, but I don't know if anybody bothered putting in the UI code to enable it on the Android side.

Nope, there's nothing in the UI for it. You'll have to set [Settings] HiresTextures = True manually in GFX.ini (and you also need to put the texture packs in the Load folder manually just like on PC). It should work once you've done that, but I don't know if anyone actually has tested it, so I can't guarantee anything.

Amazing. But the best phones with SD and shield haven't enough power to run the games in normal imagine with hi resolution pics.

If you try it sent some videos and ddvice

Ok I tested it out with Mario kart Wii and it doesn't seem to detect the textures, I changed the gfx.ini like you said and put the the folder in the right place but I get nothing, I'm using the nvidia shield TV and tbf my shield seems to run pretty smooth and close to full 60fps on a lot of games - most very playable - also running internal at 720p so to say we don't have enough power doesn't make much sense. Have you tested yourself on shield?

Can you upload your GFX.ini so we can check if it's correct?

Hello i can confirm that custom textures work..i am testing it for five weeks...and it is working...make shure you add also the preload textures in the ini and use only dds format...textures loadtime can be up to 20 seconds so be patience...its a great visuell improvement but performance...
