Simple put multiplier is not locked for first 400 mhz,for example if your cpu boost to 3.6 you can overclock up to 4.0 (37,38,39 and 40 multipliers are not locked even on non k cpu )
BUT you have to have mobo which would support overclocking if you bought k edition cpu ( for example z77 p68 etc )
Also,I think option is called overclocking boost multiplier in bios.

And 4.0GHz should be enough for the games he mentioned (assuming he isn't using LLE) Big Grin

Under the "overclocking" tab, there should be a turbo multiplier. That is where I changed it for my 3570K, but I dont have a good non-K to try this with.

I would assume its in the same place. You have to enable the first option in that tab btw to do anything.
Desktop:
OS: Windows 7 64 bit
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K @ 4.4 GHz
GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Factory OC'ed)
RAM: 16 GB @ 1600 MHz
Dolphin Revision:3.0, 3.0-784, 3.5, latest 3.5
