Can't use Dual Shock 3 on Mac OS X for Gamecube Controller

I've read through a number of posts here, and I've seen similar issues but no solutions. Here's what I have going on.
OS: MacOS 10.12
Dolphin Version: Dolphin 5.0
Controller: Sony model number CECHZC2U a2
Port 1: Standard Controller
Device: Input/1/Playstation®Controller

Controller is recognized in OpenEmu so I know my computer recognizes it. Controller is connected either through USB or via Bluetooth. Dolphin recognizes that I've plugged in a controller.

No lights blink when hitting buttons or moving the thumbsticks.

I right click on an input and when pressing "Detect" it goes to waiting and nothing happens.

When pressing "Select" I can choose a button but nothing happens (no lights blink)

What do I need to do to use my PS3 controller as a GameCube controller?

Thank you for all your help.

Attached is a screenshot of my controller configuration screen:
