Hi Everyone,

Something bizarre occured to me, while playing Majora's Mask (The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition US), today.

My config is so that I'm using the GCI folder config type, in order to save my games.

What happened is that, while wanting so save my game, using song of time, the game couldn't save. The message wrote "The game can't be saved", whereas normally, it can perfectly be saved. I've been playing the game until Snowhead, and everything went well, so far.

The question is, on a long-term scale, is it better to use a memory card, in order to save games, or GCI folder is safe enough and in that case, my problem is coming from something else ?

Can save file corruption occur while using dolphin, contrary to a real gamecube hardware ?

Thanks,

I take advantage of this opened topic of mine, to say that actually, sometimes, it's even worse , it crashes while saving :

I'm performing the song of time, I choose Yes, in order to save my game, and while saving, at the screen where it says "Do not turn off power", the emulation freezes and I have to shut down the game. It happened twice.

I'm thinking, is the fact that I'm loading Hi-res textures can cause some trouble like that ? Maybe it's not related (at all), but I'm gonna play the game without loading Hi res textures and see if something similar happens.

Edit : Ok, Everything seems fixed, since I'm now using Direct3D 11 as backend.

There is no more freeze or bug while saving, no crash during gaming and I have the Hi res textures loaded.

Edit 21/11/17 : It has crashed again and now, I think that the Hi-res textures are the reason it crashed. Still at the same screen, the saving screen, after playing song of time.

We have a long-standing issue with large texture packs that we're not fully sure what causes them, although I have theories. You're on Windows, I assume? Could you try this build and see if that improves the situation? Please report back no matter the result if you try it.

Hi,
I tried your build and it's working good so far, with the Hi-res textures loaded. I'd say it's a little bit more fluid than the previous build I've been playing with, on top of that.
