Can't run Wii games?

When I try to load SMG, it just sets there, and if I press play at the top, it will give me the error "Couldn't init the core. Check your configuration."
I'm still somewhat of a noob here.
using rev 3820.

Update your DirectX and install latest VC++ Redistributable.
