Iv been trying to play Metroid Prime/2 and just can't get it to run in a playable state. I get nothing but messed up audio and less than 30FPS in gameplay. Iv tried tweaking the cpu setting to 40 and etc nothing seems to work. Any ideas on how to fix this iv seen videos over a year old people playing it just fine and im running the new Lg G7 my phone can definitely handle the game yet it can't.
Can't play Metroid prime/prime2 in playable state

Metroid is too heavy for the majority of phones, if not every phone, to play at full speed. Even if it did it would be a stuttery mess due to shader compilation issues and android currently breaking on Ubershaders.
No, your G7 can't. 06-28-2018, 05:11 PM

Actually it's really quite playable even on a Snapdragon 835 phone so it should run just fine on a Snapdragon 845 phone! Try an older version of Dolphin, I've found newer versions break this game with weird graphic defects and then the game will just freeze.
Not if the phone's thermal management is super aggressive, which is most phones, excluding some Chinese vendors and OnePlus.
Or if the OS decides to put the JIT threads on the small cores for whatever reason. 06-28-2018, 05:31 PM
Please also keep in mind that the requirements for Metroid Prime 1 are very different from the requirements for Metroid Prime 2, since the latter requires EFB to RAM in order for the scan visor to work.

Was going to say my phones is an 8 core 845 if phones a year old can play it my brand new phone should be able to im not looking for perfect just playable and i can tell sometimes the game runs smooth randomly for no reason even in big enemy filled areas then it dumps to unplayable state thats what i don't understand i dont believe its a limitation to the hardware as much as the emulation just failing. Not only that but its not just Metroid any gamecube game iv tried hasn't worked si far no matter what i clock the cpu at. Sunshine, etc it wouldn't play, i will try older version thanks Jamster.
Ill be damned downloading an older version worked i downloaded a version from 6 months ago and now MP and MP2 are running smooth as butter. Its hilarious how the newer versions brake the games. Anyways thank again Jamster you the real MVP.

Have you checked whether the scan visor works in both games? In versions that old, it doesn't work in Metroid Prime 2 if you're using the default settings (and you won't be able to make any progress in the game unless it works). 06-29-2018, 01:08 AM
They'll find out soon enough.
