Hiya

I haven't been able to install a new version of Dolphin from the build-bot since Nokia released the Android 9 update for the Nokia 8 phones, and I updated to that version.

I know that it's not a case of the phone suddenly becoming incompatible. The currently installed version of Dolphin continues to work just fine. But I can't install any other version, not even the same apk version that I already have installed.

Does it refuse to install? Do you have installing apps from unknown sources enabled?

I have Install unknown apps enabled for ES File Explorer yes, which is where I'm trying to install the downloaded Dolphin build from.

No, it does try to install, and warns me that it would overwrite an earlier version; but at the end of the process it simply displays the message "App not installed."

Yeah sure,it happens quite often the new version needs to overwrite the old one and they are having some conflict in the process that it can't be done, rename the folder before like destroyer says, trust me it works, if it dosent trhow it for the window ?

Really? I've never heard of that happening before... Unless you're trying to install a buildbot build over a Google Play build or vice versa.

Well it happened to me one time with dolphin, don't remember wich versions or if it was official or custom but for example if you try to install a old version over newer sometimes it can't be installed.

Ah, yeah, Android can refuse to install older versions too. But that's not the problem that flamming_python is having, since installing the same version doesn't work either.
