Can't ground pound SMS???????

I've tried the normal combo of L button while jumping and several others, but in SMS I can't ground stomp, obviously this is needed to play past like the first 10 minutes of the game.

SMS=Super Mario Sunshine, use some basic thought processes please before you post.

Yes. Thank you. I figured most people on here would understand some basic acronyms, considering it's nintendo and they don't exactly have a wide variety of games.


And I just told you which dolphin version... 3.0 64 bit. Pay attention. Since I guess I need to do a play by play for you. I installed dolphin 3.0 64-bit. With me on this? I OPEN IT. I use the SMS (Super Mario Sunshine) ROM and it opens fine. Let's say I have L button bound to "O". The combination to ground pound (got it wrong in the title at first) is Jump + L button shortly after. I press that, and nothing happens. And nothing else that uses L button appears to work. It doesn't matter what key it's bound to, it doesn't work.

I suppose my exact version is 3.0-692 because I downloaded it today and that's the latest, the actual program doesn't tell me though.
