Hi everyone, I'm having an odd issue with Dolphin under Ubuntu 9.04. I've been able to reproduce the issue on two systems: a P4 2.8 GHz with GeForce 7600 GT and a MacBook Pro (Core 2 Duo with GeForce 8600M).

Same issue happens with distributed builds and ones I compile from SVN.

I select a game to launch (in this case Super Mario Galaxy, but it happens with any game), and the screen goes to the point of a black emulation window... listing all the stats of the system. Then, Dolphin goes down in flames a split second later.

Here's the logs from terminal... would appreciate any help with this.

P.S. Doesn't appear to be a permissions issue, as sudo had no effect.

P.P.S. All Dolphin settings are defaults, though changing sound, controllers, attempting to disable stuff had no effect.

And I've been looking for a fix for the past days..... Undecided . How does performance under wine compare to native linux performance? Wine does work for me, but runs with ~15 fps ._.

Cheers,
pada.

Yeah, it's of course going to run slower than natively. It's about 10-20% slower for me. Sad

Hello Hatoncat,

There used to be a bug causing hangs on Dual Core systems for certain games (Mario Kart: Double Dash, Legend of Zelda: the Wind Waker). It has been resolved a few revisions back, perhaps if you try to compile it again, you'll have no problems.

Also, remember to install GCC >=4.3. Just open up Synaptic and enter the 'gcc' search string.

Please let us know how it worked out.
Boycott Apple and Microsoft products. Use GNU/Linux, FreeBSD.
