Athlon 64 ? 65nm Cpu ?
Give up ! That CPU is no way good enough for dolphin . Even with overclocking , it's still painful slow

Quote:64bit would give you 2-3%.... performance

I have yet to find a game where using a 64 bit build doesn't provide at least a 20% speedup if not more.

Of course 20-30% isn't going to be enough for him. He needs a whole new cpu.

Quote:After my own research I've discovered that a 32 bit OS can address 4GB, but that includes the graphics memory etc., so it isn't 4GB of RAM. If possible I'd recommend buying an upgrade licence to 64 bit windows 7, as you'll be able to use all your RAM, and the 64bit version of dolphin runs faster.

Not completely accurate. Video ram does not share the same address space as x86 (unfortunately). You have memory + I/O space mapped. Video ram is part of I/O space.

Quote:also if your Graphics Card has 1GB of memory, it will reduce your memory limit to 1.5GB when playing Games.

Nope. The limit for a 32 bit x86 application is 2GB regardless of vram.

Quote:if you had 4GB of system ram and a 1GB video card under a 32 bit operating system, each individual program could only use 3GB of that system ram (due to the video card using 1GB of address space) However there is something else most people are NOT aware of.

No it couldn't. You still have I/O space to consider.

Quote:Under DirectX 9.0C (and lower) video card ram must be duplicated into system ram. That means if you're running on the highest settings with your new shiny 1GB video card - that 1GB of video memory must be duplicated leaving you with only 2GB left for your game.

Not true. I would like to see you substantiate this with evidence.

i answered to the 4gb ram allocation
what he mentioned... not about the overall increase... my bad
