Can't Edit Game Configs

I want to rename and change the settings for my games but Dolphin keeps deleting the ini files for each game's config. I right-click a game, go to properties > edit config. The file for every game is blank. I type some stuff in the file, but as soon as I close the game's properties window it deletes the file. Using Dolphin 4.0.2 on Windows 8 x64.

EDIT: Got the settings to stay by copying over the default settings file to the location where the config files are, changing what I need to, then marking the file as read-only. This seems to be the only way to prevent Dolphin from deleting it. I still can't rename the games though, several sites say I should be able to using this file.

Yeah, the problem is the function that opens it returns instantly if the editor is notepad++, instead of when you close it. If you click edit config, then close the isorproperties, switch back to notepad++, it'll warn you that the file doesn't exist anymore/was changed, ignore and edit it as you wish.
