Can't connect two xbox one controllers

I'm working with Dolphin 4.0-9177, trying to connect two xbox one controllers to use as gamepads. I've been able to assign Port 1 and Port 2 to separate inputs (used by each controller), yet when mapping the second pad and input, the controller does not register with Dolphin and cannot be used. I have already activated the ports and tried the many basic methods of possible fixes, but nothing is working.

Does anybody have any other suggestions?

If not done already, verify if both controllers are working. in the Control Panel (assuming you have Windows).
Verify in the GC controller configuration that the correct controller is selected on each controller tab.
Verify if both controllers are working in other games.

Are both xbox one controllers standard ones? I know Microsoft released an advanced controller with more controls, and it might have problems with dolphin.

AFAIK standard xbox one controllers are recognized as XInput and shouldn't cause problems in Dolphin nor other games
