My son and I are trying to play SSBB together, but I can't get more than 1 Wiimote to connect. What am I doing wrong?
I'm running Dolphin 5 on a mid-2014 MacBook Pro with OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. I've got 2 non-motion-plus Wiimotes. I have tried many variations of the following:
* Reboot Mac (with bluetooth off and nothing paired)
* Turn on Bluetooth
* Launch Dolphin
* Open controller settings
* Select "Real Wiimote" for both Wiimote 1 and Wiimote 2
* Press 1+2 on Wiimote 1
* While lights are flashing, hit "Refresh"
* Wiimote 1 connects and rumbles (usually, but not always)
* Try the same with Wiimote 2
The most common failure is that Wiimote 2 will do nothing. Sometimes Wiimote 1 (!) will rumble during my attempt to connect Wiimote 2. I've also seen Wiimote 2 connect, but rumble continuously and not respond to button inputs.
It doesn't seem to matter if I do this while a game is running or not. If I do it while SSBB is running I see log messages about "Wiimote 2 connected" followed by about 10 "Wiimote 2 disconnected" messages.
Also, according to https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/configuring-controllers/#Wii_Remote_.22Wiimote.22 I don't need to click "Refresh" if continuous scanning is checked, but neither remote does anything unless I click "Refresh".
What is the right way to connect 2 wiimotes to a Mac?
