I've been trying to set up my pad, it's a PS2 pad with an adaptor. Dolphin detects the pad just fine, even the dual sticks. I'm able to assign all the buttons and stuff, but when I click save and try to play the game, the pad doesn't work, only the keyboard. When I go back to the settings, these have been reset. I've tried saving the profile, but nothing happens. I've tried different pad imputs... but nothing.

I searched, but found no information on the subject.

Same problem here. Windows 7 64 bit. Configured a GCPad and can map all the controller buttons just fine. Save it as a profile, works fine. If I restart Dolphin and check the controller settings, it's all still intact and is set to default. But when I launch a game, it ignores all of those settings and only the keyboard works.

Can't figure it out either. It's not a rights issue and it's not a compatibility issue. Seems like a bug or compatibility issue on 64-bit version of Windows 7, found more threads on this issue, everyone's using W7 64-bit. Will try to experiment a bit and see if I can find a workaround.

not at my comp cant provide a picture.

What adapter are you refering to?

did you actually tell dolphin that it should use a controller? in the configuration for gamecube settings should be near the memcard settings. sorry cant be more precise at this time.

also there are two save options for controllers 1. and the first on top is to save the profile you map out. 2. on the bottom is to save for use at that time.

Is there anyone else using PS2 controller w/Dolphin?

Win 7 x64, SP1
Dolphin r7719
Converter is a terrible Made in China piece of junk, but Windows 7 recognizes the controller and it is usable.

Having the same problem as Bluey. Dolphin is configured to use "standard controller" in the gamecube tab. Controls are set, light up the test icons, and are still there as default when I restart Dolphin. Start it up, only the keyboard is recognized. Am I missing something here?

I would DL Dolphin 3.0 if your not using it already. screenshots could be helpful. specifically Dolphins configuration window on the gamecube tab, and the GCPad window.

No one has stated the converters your using, some times if you are not consistently using the same USB port you will have to actually install it a multitude of times. once for each of the different ports(0.o)... sounds weird but not unheard of.

you may have to run the driver file if there is one for the converter, in a different compatibility mode. are either of you using win7 pro or ultimate?

Hi i'm having the same issue. I can map all the buttons on my gamepad (madcatz 360) But none of the buttons register in game. What's more crazy is the keyboard doesn't work either. I know my controller works as I used it on PCSX2 earlier today. Here is my info,

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Dolphin 3.0 x64
Game trying to run: Zelda Twilight Princess GC version.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I had this problem too and I think I solved it (well my keyboard always worked unlike Kyubi). I think the problem is that Dolphin was installed to a privileged directory (for example: C:/Program Files/). Dolphin can't save any configuration changes you make if you didn't start it in administrator mode because it doesn't have rights to that directory. Two possible solutions (tested both and they both worked for me):

1) Run it in administrator mode
2) Put Dolphin in a different directory (I did C:/emulators/)

Hope this helps!
