Question
I bought a GameStop Gamecube wired controller to configure with the Dolphin emulator 32-64 rev. 5697. I also purchased a Mayflash 3 in 1 Magic Joy Box to connect the controller to my PC. In the GCPAD configuation button in the emulator, the Mayflash is described as "DirectInput/0/TigerGame XBOX+PS2+GC Game Controller Adapter" and also as "SDL/0/TigerGame XBOX+PS2+GC Game Controller Adapter". When I go to map the buttons on the controller, it seems pretty straightforward, but I may be doing something wrong, because after I hit save, and lauch the game, the game says "Press any button on the Wii remote", which of course I can't do because it is not a Wii remote, or it says "Press A and B to play" which seems to correspond to the Gamecube controller, but nothing happens when I press them, either one at a time or together. The controller is recognized and configurable in Windows under the "devices and printers" button in the Windows control panel. I have tried to map the buttons in the Dolphin using the "SDL/0/TigerGame XBOX+PS2+GC Game Controller Adapter" and the "DirectInput/0/TigerGame XBOX+PS2+GC Game Controller Adapter" choices, but it doesn't matter which I choose! I have also tried the latest version Dolphin 4.0.2 emulator, but the story is the same, plus the audio is broken up in that version, whereas it is fine in the rev. 5697 version. Is it the Gamestop controller or what? Any assistance you can give me will be greatly appreciated. I am sorry for the long post, but I couldn't think of a shorter way to describe my problem.

Jack

Are you serious? Please use a newer version.

By newer version, preferably something from the top section of this page: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/ E.g. 4.0-3400. 4.0.2 is quite old; there have been thousands of changes and improvements since it came out (not a joke).

Actually that page is where I got 4.0.2 from. I chose it because it was listed as the most recent "Stable" version!
I interpreted that to mean that the versions at the top of the page had bugs and were not as stable!

They may still have rough edges, but not nearly as many as r5697. For the most part, you can use dev builds without worry, in fact, r5697 itself was technically a dev builds (back in the SVN days) so you really shouldn't have any concerns about using things newer than 4.0.2. Like I said, 4.0.2 is old, and Dolphin has moved quite a long way. At least use the latest revision and see how they run, then you can always go back to something else. At any rate you're better off checking it out rather than not
