Yeah, still at 4.4Ghz. Just tested with 1x IR and all other graphics settings off/low. All other settings standard for this game. No hacks, etc. Using vbeam and LLE backend on thread. It's dropping to the low 50's, but now my GTX 460 is dropping the memory clock to it's 2d level which is 162Mhz. Trying to force the clock higher in MSI afterburner isn't working.
Increasing the res to 2x IR forces the 460 into using 3d clocks, but I'm still getting the same drops, with roughly the same GPU usage as 1x IR with 2d clocks, which is ~50%. Interestingly it drops the most heavily whenever Bowser's on screen. When he's not visible it can hit over 70 fps. Also of note is the fact that in my testing over the weekend I found that I can't use 3x IR as the GPU use hits over 95% and I get massive slowdowns of 20-30%. I knew that SMG2 was heavy graphically but I didn't expect a full-fat GTX 460 to be bottlenecking at 3x IR, 1080p and no AF/AA.
With Framelimit off but checking 'Limit by FPS' results in it dropping to 62fps at the most and only very briefly. Other than that it's well over 70-80fps.
