OC'ing isn't an option for me. I have a the hyper 212 EVO cpu cooler, but i still don't feel comfortable risking £160 worth of processor for 2 games :/
You don't risk anything except data loss due to crash if you will overclock without raising voltage and with good cooler.

For example i was able to reach stable overclock with CPU actually undervolted by 0.25v. Of course it's really 1/1000 chance to get Phenom II to 4.2 and even lower chance to get it to such high frequency undervolted, but 3.6-3.8GHz at stock voltage is a piece of cake.
And if you'll get your CPU to 4GHz or 4.2GHz it's still will be enough to play SMG. It's just won't be full speed everywhere. But that doesn't mean it will be slow as hell.
24 hours with full load 49C max, idle 37C max.

As long as you stress test it appropriately with applications like prime95 that check the results of your computations you're not risking data loss/crashing either.

Yeah I am sure. With HLE I am getting 60fps everywhere, there is no way you should be getting that low fps even with LLE on.
Something is wrong with your settings or your computer...

I did play mostly SMG2 so I cant be sure about first one,but I presume its not more demanding then sequel

you want me to go through hassle of recording a video and then uploading it somewhere just to prove you I am telling the truth ?
I think not. Why would I lie ?
How about you post your settings, screenshoots with fps and I will figure out whats wrong ( I will compare it with my settings, perfomance at the same place etc )

Because I know I have non optimal settings, and if there was any point, I'd change settings to get it faster. It is a verifiable fact that no one has got anything resembling 90%+ speed in SMG2 with LLE audio more than 45% of the time with less than 4GHz of 2500K. Despite this, one person, ie you, seems to think that you can. The speeds you claim to achieve are not repeatable by anyone else, except with HLE: something which will break certain levels of the game as well as the music.

The issue is not whether or not you are lying, but whether you haven't read your FPS counter, or don't know how to turn on LLE, or don't know the specs of your computer.

Thanks for the laugh. I have been what you can call pc enthusiast for about 10 years and have been working in IT for about 5 years now.
So yeah,it must be that I dont know specs of my computer or what fps counter is. Or what LLE is.
I dont think it's true that nobody alse gets more then 90% speed with anything alse then 4ghz sandy bridge, because I have seen how game perform on my system.
You have just been misinformed or something.
If its true,I will gladly share my settings or anything alse not only here but in relevant threads for games, because like I said, about 90% of the time with LLE on game is above 90% speed-usually somewhere around 96-100 %
On couple of places it drops around 50 fps,so yeah thats less then 90% ( its somewhere 83-85% speed )
People usually say that in order to get game fullspeed, you need to have atleast 4 ghz which is true,if you dont want these drops to 83% speed.
Maybe you just misundrestood people ?
If you are getting less then these speeds even with HLE on,then I stand by what I said that something is wrong with your computer or settings.
With HLE you should be getting 100% speed everywhere.
If it helps,I can pinpoint 3 settings which make a lot of difference-I have AA off, copy to ram off and enable accurate vbeam emulation in game properties.
Each of these settins give about 10-20% speed increase. All of them combined give me about 50% speed increase.

Ok did some testing and everything is like I said, but found something curious: I get almost no difference in speed using HLE with this game.
It's usually faster atleast 20% here its about 5% faster then LLE.
So forget what I wrote about getting 100% speed with HLE.
But its not important, since LLE is required for proper gameplay anyways.
If you are not getting similiar results like me,it's something wrong on your side. Make sure to pay attention to 3 settings I mentioned.

Use the search function. This forum is filled with verifiable user data on this topic. We're not going to believe your word over all of that without some type of evidence. What's so hard to understand about that?

By the way are you using LLE on thread?

I just spent more then an hour messing with fraps and I was not able to record video without 15% perfomance loss.
Still, game runs much faster even with this pefomance loss then what AnyOldName3 thinks it should !

At some parts, fps counter is not really visible, because its same color as sky/clouds. I didnt find the way to change the color of fps counter, and fraps doesnt record its own counter.
But you can get the general idea of perfomance. It doesn't drop below 47-48 fps even while recoding. It's about 55 fps at same places when fraps is off.

Also, you can notice sound is not skipping/stuttering when game is not running fullspeed. If you are interested in this trick, check out general section I will write a topic about it !

That setting has no effect in this game

Apart from the fact that I can't hear the stuttering LLE gets when the speed drops slightly, I'd say that's faster than we'd expect. If you could tell us which revision you use, and give us a screenshot of your audio config just to make sure, then we'll believe you.

Bear in mind that a few people have got this far in the verification process with HLE audio, and have only found out later.

By the way, as for AA slowing you down, that's because your GPU can't handle it, as it shouldn't affect CPU load, unless EFB copies to RAM is in use. EFB copies to RAM will be slower for anything than to texture. The reason it's there is because it increases compatibility with some games.
Hang on, I've now seen your LLE anti-stutter solution, so will believe the lack of stuttering. The main thing to consider is whether or not it will reintroduce the bugs of HLE.

In fact, a full set of settings screenshots may be useful for attempted replication of these results. Also, anything else we should know (ie are you using some strange build, have you recently been fired from Nintendo for stealing SMG2's source code and creating a static recompilation of it in x86-64 machine code) would be useful.
