I have just a few Wii games we like to play. The TV room is getting occupied so I have backups of my games. Basically, its Mario Galaxy 1/2, NSMB, DKC returns, Smash and Zelda. The kids play DKC returns a lot but they have gotten used to Xbox. Can I play 2 player games with 2 360 controllers? Are there any Wii games that you absolutley need the Wiimote/nunchuck?

Yes (unless the game is hard or impossible to play without a Wii Remote, see below).

Games that use MotionPlus, such as Zelda: Skyward Sword, absolutely need a Wii Remote. Games that use very specialized controllers, such as Wii Fit, require that specialized controller. Other games can have their controls mapped to 360 controllers, which works very well for certain games, but may be a bit awkward in certain other games (for instance, pointing on star bits and pull stars in Super Mario Galaxy is not designed for analog sticks).

I see, man I would love to play Mario Galaxy in 4K.
