But if he meant it literally, he would also need a $2000 5k-resolution monitor to run Dolphin at 5120x4224. And instead of haswell at 4.4GHz, he should get a 4.4GHz+ Skylake i7 6700k with DDR4 - which do better than Haswells. (07-04-2016, 12:14 PM)admin89 Wrote: I've already answered your question . Maximum Settings = Highest as possible Internal Resolution + Highest as possible Anti-Aliasing Dolphin supports any resolution you put in gameini. We just expose relatively sane settings in UI. That was a thing months ago. As I've already said, there is no max settings. Anyways, if you want 1080p, get yourself some modern GPU 750 TI or stronger, and a i3/5/7 desktop skylake chip. Done. The benchmark thread designed to test the JIT and only the JIT against various CPUs and doesn't actually show performance of games? 07-06-2016, 01:09 PM

Dolphin 5.0 CPU benchmark
CPU: Xeon E3-1246 v3 (4c/8t Haswell/Intel 4th gen) — core & cache @ 3.9GHz via multicore enhancement GPU: Intel integrated HD Graphics P4600 RAM: 4x8GB Corsair Vengence @ DDR3-1600 OS: Linux Mint of some variety + [VM] Win7 SP1 x64
That's not the point here . Your benchmark doesn't have any AMD FX CPU beside Piledriver FX 4350 , no i7 3770 either
Basically , your benchmark is useless atm When you have bulldozer / piledriver and many other CPU results , I will consider using it Laptop: Mini PC :: 07-06-2016, 05:00 PM

My issue was with your wording, not your choice of benchmark; by saying "Official Dolphin Benchmark" rather than "Official Dolphin Benchmark thread", it can imply that luabench.dol is in someway less official than povray.elf.
I just don't want to see delroth's work on luabench.dol be misappropriated to myself.

You're off-topic . I don't understand why would you be so serious about small stuff
If I happen to insult you , or misunderstand your way of thinking . I'm sorry ok ? I'm just giving an example to the @OP , how fast is his CPU with Dolphin ...by pointing to that benchmark Laptop: Mini PC :: 07-06-2016, 10:41 PM
You shouldn't be linking to the benchmark thread at all to prove your point.
1. it's incredibly outdated, the JIT has gotten multiple times faster since that old thing. 2. (and this applies to both, but the manager of the newer one already knows this.) It doesn't show actual performance of games. It's just useful to show how the JIT performs with one kind of workload on various CPUs, in a value that doesn't mean much to the user or the point you often try to reinforce when you link that benchmark thread. |
