Hello, I've been trying to play Pikmin with a friend. The way we're doing this is that I want to watch him play (sounds boring, I don't care), but if I host the netplay, I'd be player 1 and he won't be able to use his controls, or play at all (he has a ps3 controller linked to Dolphin, and I want to watch him play, not vise versa) because he's player 2 and player 2's controller will not work as Pikmin is a single player only game. He can connect to me in netplay with port 16160, the one we randomly picked, which works when he connects to me. I have forwarded, etc. and so has he, but I can't connect to him. Checked IP's, and everything.

Help, please.

If he needs to be player one, and you can only get the host to be player one, why doesn't he host?

I don't really fully understand what your problem is other than "it doesn't work."
Desktop:
OS: Windows 7 64 bit
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K @ 4.4 GHz
GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Factory OC'ed)
RAM: 16 GB @ 1600 MHz
Dolphin Revision:3.0, 3.0-784, 3.5, latest 3.5

If he hosts, I can't connect to him. That's the problem. Netplay DOES work, but only if he were to connect to me, as in I host.

So he can host, but it's pointless because I can't connect to him.

He can connect if I HOSTED, but also pointless, because I wan him to be P1.

Am I clear enough? If not, tell me, I'll try to clear it up as best as possible, a solution or any help at all would be very helpful.

Now that makes sense.

What revision are you using with what settings (General > Config should be all we need)?

Only thing that is checked under Config->General is JIT Recompiler
Frame limit - auto

And revision? You shoul be using 3.0 (no numbers after it) if you are using the guide here on the forums.

I don't entirely know what is going on with your friends inability to get Netplay hosting up and running on his end, but I believe there is a setting for who uses which game pad port. I am afk atm tho, so I don't have a good way to look for it.

If there is such a way, I'd be fine with that.

In your profile you mentioned 3.0-774 so I guess you are not using Dolphin 3.0 (the official release). You'll find it here in "Releases" part http://www.dolphin-emu.org/download.html
