The beta and preview builds of Windows 10 didn't boot on overclocked systems, as they wanted to ensure that any issues were Windows 10's fault, and not because of an unstable overclock. As with many features unique to these builds, on the release of the main version, people kept spouting that Win10 was terrible because of this feature, even though it was no longer there, and when it had been, it was for a completely sensible reason.
