Hi All!

I am buying a new rig but want your input before pulling the trigger. The main goal is to play any and all GC and Wii games with no lag. I plan on playing games at 3x IR with no AA and assume LLE just in case! Thoughts?

GTX 970? That's a tad exotic for running Dolphin, but you are probably playing other games as well, so.

Your build will play anything Dolphin at excellent framerate.

Thanks! You are correct, but what do you mean by exotic?

This machine will also be used for emulating PS2, PSP, DS and PS3 games (in the future).

I don't know Asrock brand but Asus is well known in the industry and can get your CPU to 5+GHz Wink. Also, I'd recommend air cooler because it's safer and easier to clean with almost zero maintenance.

Cooler: Noctua NH-U14S
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608041
New $70

Mobo: ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z87
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132016&cm_re=ASUS_MAXIMUS_VI_HERO-_-13-132-016-_-Product

Refurbished $118
New $155

Also, in the long run I'd go with 16GB of RAM to future proof your system. In this case, faster speed rating and higher capacity more is better!

But you know Jack, do you? (LOL)

It's an ASUS spin-off that produces cheap, but still high-quality (best bang for the buck) motherboards and PC accessories.
ASUS + "Rock-solid" = AsRock Smile

By exotic I mean that Dolphin runs just fine on less.

WARNING -- http://rpcs3.net/ hosts the ONLY PS3 emulator available. Don't expect to be running anything for at least a year...

Could possibly go with the GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 (not MX) for a bit (~$5) more, moves you up an entire tier

Your forgetting Citra, the first and only 3DS emulator in dev. Again give it about 2 years or so for this one which I'm sure that Devil's Canyon can handle it.
