With an all new laptop with all new cpu haswell i can't play full speed these games with just tje native wii resolution !
So what do l need the best desktop in the world !?!

Knowing that the razor blade 14" 2000$ has a quasi equal cpu and 10% better gpuu only (as l read) !

l am seriously disapointed !
And to how many fps you think l can play these games in the lower resolution !

For FX Zero , nothing less than an i5 4670k to get the job done
i7 4702MQ and i7 4700MQ are much slower than i5 4670k
i5 4670k can overclock , i7 4702MQ and i7 4700MQ can't
Quote:And to how many fps you think l can play these games in the lower resolution !
The CPU decide the max resolution you can use
Lower resolution won't help since you clearly have CPU bottleneck

Imagine a system has Pentium 4 CPU or Atom CPU + Nvidia GTX 780
That system has CPU bottleneck

Just to clarify.
Benchmarks indicate the i7-4702MQ is about 4% less powerful than the 4670K at stock speed.
Meaning you should get around 100 fps with Zelda: Wind Waker. Overall, that is pretty decent, you should be able to play many games at fullspeed. But forget about the more demanding games completely. The CPU is not powerful enough. Games like F-Zero, Mario Galaxy, the Wii Zeldas, Metroid Prime, etc. are too demanding for that CPU.

Basically , the same generation CPU with huge difference in clock speed
i7 4702 Zelda WW benchmark : 77 - 58 - 92 FPS which are less than 100 FPS
Quote:Benchmarks indicate the i7-4702MQ is about 4% less powerful than the 4670K at stock speed.
I'm not sure about that .
i7 4702MQ Turbo : 2.9GHz with 3 or 4 cores , 3.1GHz with 2 cores , 3.2GHz with 1 core . Same cache size as i5 4670k
i5 4670k Turbo : 3.6GHz with 4 cores , 3.7GHz with 3 cores , 3.8GHz with 2 or 1 core
Basically , it's either 3.1GHz vs 3.8GHz or 2.9GHz vs 3.7GHz . Do the math , you will see i5 4670k is about 23->24% faster than i7 4702MQ in Dolphin

Benchmark also indicate i5 4670k @ 4.5GHZ is faster than i7 4770k @ 4.2GHz . So i7 should not faster than i5 in Dolphin
->So either i7 4702MQ data or i5 4670k stock data is incorrect
Turbo Boost will work automatically unless you disable it via BIOS . I asked the i5 4670k stock benchmarker , he said he did not disable turbo boost

i7 cpus have HT, i5 cpus don't. A lot of benchmarking applications take advantage of HT and therefore obtain much better IPC on i7 cpus. On dolphin however it makes no difference. This explains the results. Like admin said it should be around 23% faster once you account for this, not 4%.

This is why you don't compare different applications. For example just because cpu X is 20% faster than cpu Y in other applications doesn't mean it will be in dolphin.
