Hello,
I stumbled upon this site just a few minutes ago, and already i'm trying to figure some things out. My first question is about the sensor bar.
My laptop, an asus g50vt-x5 has a small infrared sensor on it (not near the size of a sensor bar) . In device manager i found a device called "ITECIR Infrared Receiver (EC)". I'm assuming that this means I cannot transmit infrared from it but only receive. I know nothing about IR and am wondering and hoping that I am wrong. My thought was someone on the forums might be able to help me.
I was given some hope though. In properties for ITECIR Infrared Receiver (EC), there is an extra tab called Resources. with a table that has two values for resource type one of which is I/O Range that has a setting of 0300-0307(I/O as in input/OUTPUT hence my newfound hope).
Is there anyway to emit light from it, and even if there is, will the tiny 1/2 inch by 1/4 inch sensor be big enough. I would be playing very close range.
For some reason I would gain much satisfaction if i could play games that need the sensor bar through this little thing, even if it is extremely easy to just buy a wireless sensor bar
Thanks in advance.
