If I choose to copy this build I'll probably rip the ram out of my old laptop.

I had the same idea and I was looking for some other specs
This is my setup now https://www.mindfactory.de/shopping_cart...f7774c792f Iam looking for a good cheap gpu, maybe the gtx 770 for 80€ on ebay total price 456€ I hope 300w is enought 01-06-2018, 04:16 AM
According to wikipedia, the geforce 770 has a tdp of 230w. Which would be waaayyyy too high for a 300w power supply.
Something like a 750ti (which actually uses the newer, more power efficient 'maxwell' architecture compared to the less efficient 'kepler' used in the 770) should be enough for 1080p on most games, and use a lot less power. But I don't know what the second hand market is like in your area, so can't really comment on it's value. 01-06-2018, 06:38 AM
Pretty sure the TC probably has all the parts at this point, but Whatnowww, I would really recommend avoiding practically any non-Intel CPU due to recent events. Maybe I'm paranoid, but the fact that the news media has made that exploit/weakness and the plans to patch it public, let's just say that I am wishing I had upgraded to Ryzen for my college HTPC build (mostly using old parts to save on $$$) if only just to be immune to the whole situation.
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690k, OC'ed to 4.2 GHz
RAM: Kingston HyperX 16GB DDR3-1866 GPU: GTX 1080 Founders Edition 01-08-2018, 03:44 PM

It'd be silly to make a lower-end Ryzen SFF build right now when desktop Ryzen APUs launch February 12 and the 2400G has integrated graphics that supposedly are on-level with a discrete GT 1030:
