Broken sword puzzle problem, cursor

I have a problem which means I can't progress in the game. I think it's that the cursor doesn't want to move if "the A button" (i.e. the left mouse button) is pushed down.

This is the puzzle which I cannot get past (you have to move the cylinder clockwise and anti clockwise by holding the a button down and moving the cursor). Alternatively, if anyone has a save past this point I would be very grateful .

However, you will also get stuck after another while when you have to arrange a photograph that has been torn. Im stuck there at the moment cause i have no wii mote (at this stage ill prob just buy a wii anyway lol)
