Brawl runs on desktop, not laptop?

So I just recently purchased brawl for my wii, but the wii's really old and the controllers are mostly unresponsive, so I can't really play brawl. But then I heard Dolphin emulator can run Wii??? So I converted the brawl file to ISO and tried running on my desktop and it works! My desktop is Windows Vista 32bit.
Next day: I try to install dolphin+brawl on my laptop. My laptop is Windows 7 64bit. I download the Dolphin 2.0 and it starts up just fine, but when I try to open the brawl ISO, it comes up with multiple errors and doesn't start! OH NO!!! Now I can't show it off to my friend!
The errors it gives are:
1. Can't create opengl renderer. You might be missing some required
opengl extensions, check the logs for more info

Can someone help me fix this? My laptop is only a few weeks old, but the Windows Update is up to date and I've updated just about all the drivers. Am I doing something wrong?

Extract the entire emulator, don't run dolphin from within the archive.
Update VC++ and DirectX runtimes. (links can be found on the official dolphin website's FAQ)
Use the Direct3D video backend/plugin. It appears OpenGL will not function on that laptop.

Ok thank you for replying! I used the release version Dolphin and ran the .exe file, which autoextracted it for me into a new folder named x64. I ran the Dolphin.exe to start the program from there, is there more that I'm supposed to do?
And how do you use the Direct3D video backend/plugin?

Edit 6/01/11: Oh yeah and I forgot to mention that I've updated VC++ and DirectX runtimes.
