4.0 doesn't work at all (meaning it fails to launch any game, GC or Wii)! So I guess I'm unable to test that version. I tried 4.0-100 and 200, 100 didn't work at all, and 200 has the same issue with the GC controller. I failed to test the PS3 controller (due to my forgetfulness), but it doesn't work with keyboard either, so I guess that's irrelevant.
The game in the screenshot is Brawl. I downloaded a texture mod from here a while back.
So I guess I'll stick to 3.5 to play Brawl (and Project M). Though keeping 2 versions around is quite a pain. I guess I could use my Wiimotes to play, but it'd be difficult to relearn. Or set up an emulated Wiimote with the controller. Of course, that shouldn't be a "fix."
I'm going to hope that A:this gets resolved in future dev releases by some form of voodoo magic, or B:come April (when the next LTS will surely come out) a fresh install will of the OS will solve whatever I did to break my install.
So thanks for the troubleshooting tips, but alas, I'm doomed! (Side note, considering 4.0 is supposed to be a "stable" release, why did it fail to launch games on my system? I was under the impression that it's supposed to be (relatively) bug-free.)
