The best practice for a "K" sku CPU with Dolphin is to disable TurboBoost, install aftermarket cooling, and overclock. If you can't do that, make sure you're hitting your TurboBoost max during gameplay. 3.4 GHz won't cut it in Twilight Princess with LLE.

Turbo boost seems to be working correctly. Dolphin is at 3,8 most of the time.

If I use Auto I get annoying random audio pops, even at max fps. I asked a question about that in Support.

I can´t seem to use OpenAL correctly, it makes for too high FPS, or too low, and audio lagging. Also, what does throttling mean. I´ve come across that word quite a few times...

OpenAL should not effect performance if you configured everything else correctly. It uses timestretched to prevents audio stutter/crackling but increases audio latency (delay). There is no other way to prevent these audio issues while keep the dsp in sync and not running the game at fullspeed.

Throttling in this context refers to thermal throttling. Which is when a piece of hardware reduces its clock rate and/or voltage (and therefore performance) when it gets too hot in order to prevent heat damage from occurring. Throttling in general just means to reduce something that is related to the function of a device (rpm for an engine, flow rate for a generator, clock rate for a chip, etc.).

So OPenAL seems similar to the way PCSX2's audio works, which just slows down at low FPS. I guess I'll play with latency settings..
Also, my CPU isn't getting overly hot. Not a perfect temp but it won't implode. somewhere around 40 degrees max maybe.

I highly doubt it's 40C under load. That's extremely low. Besides it's much more accurate to verify that throttling isn't occurring by checking the clock rate directly instead of the temperature.

I'll say Turbo works as it should

The steps are the following if x cores are beeing used:
1: 3,9Ghz
2: 3,8Ghz (Dolphin case)
3: 3,7Ghz
4: 3,7Ghz
(not sure about the last two steps though)

You are not the OP.

Edit: To clarify: Just because turbo is working for you doesn't mean it's working for him. Since the OP reported 40C temperatures I believe the OP is more likely taking his readings either while dolphin is not running or while dolphin isn't doing anything demanding. Thus I want some confirmation that his readings were taken properly.

Cosmoruski is pretty accurate actually. Using Turbo Boost minotor it shows that my processor is running at 3,8, sometimes 3,7 during Dolphin. However I did checdk my temp some minutes after Dolphin some I'm not sure about that.

Is this slowdown only in hyrule field or is it everywhere?

He already verified his clock rate.
