Hello guys, I have been reading the forum and the wiki about the BT Passthough, but I can find where to buy a dongle that works in my zone, and I want to ask about one that its listed in the wiki https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?t...assthrough the "UGREEN Bluetooth USB (CSR 8510 A10)" its says YES in all columns, but also have a citation saying need more test, and I can buy this one here easily, but when I try to search about this one in the forum I dont find anything, so I am wondering is the wiki is correct or that addition is legit. And the only info about that dongle I got is may be a CSR rebranded.

What do you think, is that ugreen will work in passthrough? Or you can recomend me one on site that send wolrdwide with free or very low shipping? Thanks!

Bluetooth passthrough can be very hit and miss and I believe that chart should only be used more as a general guideline of finding an adapter. I had the Kinivo BTD-400 adapter, no issues really other than range even though it states very long in chart and 4 wii mote stability issues. However, I recently gave the adapter to a friend and he's also having the "Has issues with games which send a lot of commands (including New Super Mario Bros. Wii and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword before you get in game)." issue, which is not listed in the chart and I never had that issue when used that adapter. I'm now using the Sena UD100 which is incredibly solid (and expensive), but even with that adapter I was having issues (fixed now) with dolphin crashing and error messages which seems to be undocumented and possibly maybe even only happening to me. Although I have no experience with it, it seems like a real Wii Bluetooth module soldered with USB is the only way to ensure it all works 100%.

If the place your buying from has a good return policy (check with them if you could return it easily first), I would maybe just try it out and report back on what you find, return if it's no good. Always nice to have more data on the subject.

I see, I cant test if I get right now, because I dont have a controller, still trying to finde an official wiimote+ chpeap, where I am I cant finde under 50euro and this is too expensvive and I was thinking to get one of those chinese controller that are 15 euro, thats why want to get sure a bt that works in passthoug.

Another question of Passthogut, Can you use the BT for any other device beside wii controller when you do the driver libusbk? Or when you install this driver the BT will only work for this?

Thanks!

Ah yes if you go with knockoff Wiimotes I believe Bluetooth passthrough is your only option, although in my opinion it's still worth it even if you're using real Wiimotes. I just wish it was simpler.

Once you've replaced the driver, the Bluetooth adapter can only be used in dolphin, Windows will no longer see the device as a Bluetooth adapter.

As for testing this thing, I can't make any promises on when but I could buy this adapter and test it out for you. As I mentioned, since you can't use your adapter as anything other than a Dolphin/Wiimote adapter once you replace the driver, I'm in the market for another adapter for other devices such as 8bitdo controllers. Since that Sena UD100 adapter was so expensive, I'm just looking for something cheap, but was also hoping to find one that works with Bluetooth passthrough so I could maybe find something better to replace my friends Kinivo BTD-400 that I gave him.

I want to test more thoroughly, but so far it seems pretty solid.

What I can currently confirm:
  • The range is good. I haven't pushed it, but it reaches where I sit very well which is about 10ft away from the TV/Computer. That Kinivo adapter I had couldn't reach this
  • The audio quality is good, but doesn't always work. For example, in Donkey Kong Country Returns, every time you collect a banana you hear the sound effect in the Wiimote, but this sound doesn't happen. It's very noticeable in this section https://youtu.be/cStUdZOpHMQ?t=53
  • Works well in New Super Mario Bros. Wii and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which the wiki states as games that give some adapters troubles because they send a lot of commands
  • Works well with 2 Wiimotes and remembers their pairings
What I haven't tested yet:
  • 3 and 4 Wiimotes
  • Check to see if it starts having lag issues after ~30 minutes. I've probably played a game for at least 30mins, but I'd like to try at least 1hr straight
  • Check to see if it may stop working after HCI resets. Not really sure how to test this one yet
So far so good. I wouldn't recommend it yet since I haven't fully tested the lag after 30mins issue yet, and to me that's a big issue if it happens.

Hi forum,
since two days I have this Ugreen BT controller (0a12:0001).

It seems the controller can really handle only 2 controllers.
It's a bit strange, I can sync my 3 Wiimotes for the first time i.e. running Mario Kart. All runs fine.
If I stop the game and start Mario Kart again, the BT controller only connects 2 Wiimotes.

But this is game dependent!
I.e. Mario Kart 2 controllers
Smash brawl 3 controllers
Donkey Kong returns 1 controller
Mario party8  2 controller
This is reproducible

Any idea at this issue?

This sound good to me since I will use only one wiimote. By the way, Do yo need install some windows drivers for wiimotes to use it? I know there is some drivers but I am not sure if they are needed for use in dolphin or these driver are to use wiimote in other stuff on PC. just the only thing we need to do is install the driver for the bt passthrough and just use it?

And thank you very much for your replies and test, you are very nice.

It could just be an issue with the adapter. I'll run these tests with mine and let you know if I can reproduce the same issues

You're very welcome. I'm on Windows 10 and the adapter was completely plug and play with it's normal Bluetooth functionality, no drivers needed. To make this work with dolphin/bt passthrough, you do still need to replace the standard driver with libusbk using zadig, but that's the same with any adapter on Windows.

A bit later today I'm going to play about an hour or so of New Super Mario Bros Wii to see if the inputs start lagging.
