hello, i'm using my current bluetooth dongle for 2 of my wireless snes controllers. With these controllers i need to use the standard drivers for the dongle for them to connect and work properly. And recently i've bought home a wii controller for my wii games. The problem is that the wii controller only works with another driver for the dongle, and with this driver the snes controllers won't work.

So i was thinking of buying another usb dongle to use snes controller and wii controller separately, although after googling about it it was said it was not recommended since they could just be mixed up with eachother constantly.

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge on this and what i could do to make them both work at the same time without having to reinstall drivers to switch.

thanks

You could try USBDK drivers, but they tend to be a "bit" unstable, leading to crashes, bluescreens and even broken windows installs... but that driver DOES do exactly what you want.

Yeah, I had a horrible experience with those.  Zadig is your best bet for the Wii remote.  I recommend you borrow a BT adapter from somebody, if possible and test how compatible they might be for switching between the Wii and SNES controllers.  You could even by a very cheap one and try.  They can be had for peanuts on newegg.

I suspect it will work because Zadig replaces the driver for a specific BT device, from what I've seen but I'm not totally sure.

Not sure if I'm comfortable with the possibility of crashes to be honest. Isn't there a simpler solution such as using 2x bluetooth adapters at the same time or smth?

No less, should I be concerned for my PC? Confused

I've been using UsbDk 1.0.19 x64 on Windows 10 for about a month without problems, I couldn't ask for a better solution. The Wii Remote is working perfectly and the driver switches control faultlessly between Windows and Dolphin's passthrough (while the libusbk driver installed with Zadig broke the functionality of bluetooth across restart and sleep).

Should I watch for warnings/errors or unusual info in the event viewer that may indicate a problem with UsbDk?
At wakeup and startup, it always logs the information event 18 - BTHUSB - "Windows cannot store Bluetooth authentication codes (link keys) on the local adapter. Bluetooth keyboards might not work in the system BIOS during startup", but it looks harmless and there is nothing else related to bluetooth.

Bye,
Lurka

I don't think you risk any damage.  My bad experience was that it started working nicely like that but then I switched to Zadig and back and could never get the Wii remote to reconnect again.  Something in my drivers got screwed up permanently and I tried many different things to fix it.  At that point, only Zadig would work but it was fine for my purposes so stuck with it.  Probably creating a restore point would have kept me out of problems.
