Im also quite new to dolphin but you could try to enable / disable random options in the graphics menu, You could also look up your game at the dolphin wiki site because they sometimes have recommended settings listed.

I always use the newest Build of Dolphin and yes its in every game. For example i tried smg and this has to work in d3d. I have a friend and I use the same settings he does. And on his PC it works.

man, i had the same issue (sorry for my bad english, i'm from brazil), you should look on that page of the forum the explain the requirments to run dophin, there is a link to a microsoft page that you will download e software which will update your directx, YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THIS DON'T MATTER YOUR DIRECTX! I have here the directx 11, that comes with windows 7 and i had to update it anyway, and after I could use the directx plugin ;D

No, it is usually the problem even if you have a brand new computer.

Because the official update includes additional or changed dll files that aren't included by default in windows 7/vista.

Dolphin doesn't often work straight away with standard system files, many/most people have to update dx9 files from M$ site even if they have latest dx11 on the computer. Didn't work for me either even after a fresh install of 7.
